i have already upload materials that I used for my GRE preparation and believe me Is tarted from Scratch. I got 920 on diagnostic test and prepared for 10 weeks with all these materials without joining any preparation center or something.

hey man...congrats on ur awesome score...could you plaease help me out with the prep..i haven't even started( not even booked my date)..however i'm tryin to squeeze into fall '09 so i know i hav to take it quickly(atmost by dec).The fact that i'm workin also doesn't help much...so i got only weekends as the major time to study.I'll put in a couple of hours on other days.

Hey,first of all congratulations,great great job..........i am planning to give GRE by the end of November so i have almost two months left,i have done quant from GRE with all the exercises.Coming to verbal,Sir i have done 9 lists from barrons.Please guide me about which tests should i take for having a good idea of GRE pattern or that will help me.Secondly,from where to practice RC's and is the word list from Barrons is enough to get good score?i mean we can solve analogies and antonyms easily by memorizing those words.Kindly help me out.Thanks and best of luck

I dont know from where all of u have come but I ll help u out guys as much as I will be able to.
Okz saadu u start with vocub and Try to make 30+ words regularly as U dont have enough time and seconly keep doing quantitative.
lets plan 4 u: I am setting test Date as 30th November so now we have 11 weeks.
First Week = Vocub (250), Basic Quasntitative
Second Week: Vocub (250), Start with basic RCs (2 hours/weekends) and keep continue with Quantitative (1 hour/day)
u start with this and do nudge me in between. I ll elobrate mroe plans

if u r done with Wordlist then Y u arento getting score yet. U must get 1300+ atleast even if you have done 2500 barrons list.

Can you tell me how you are memorizing words?
And do you revise words that you meorize because revision is as most as memorizing words.

I don't know how much words your lsit contains but I know that there 3500 Barrons words.
As far as re-scheduling is concerened, do it if you want 1400+ score otherwise shoot for it even if you are done with 1500-2000 words; You will be able to score 1250+ (that's my guess and experience tells)

Re-schedule your Gre if you can and start with the Plan that I have told Saadu [check previous msgs].
Otherwise tell me I ll make one for you as well according to your date but It will be tough of course.

1) Try out the verbal material that I ahve put on this blog- specailly do try Kaplan verbal workbook - it rocks man.
2) Barrons list doesnt guarantee you abt anything yeah but when u r done with this list; expect 650+ on verbal section if you apply other tricks perfectly on Reading Comps and Sectence completion section.
3) yes, I guess u ll be able to answer analogies and antonyms after 3500 words.

c when one say he is not preapred for verbal then I assume he hasnt done Vocub.
Secodnly, if you havent done vocub then Dont expect good marks in verbal section; may be your luck words on test day and u ll get 500 score.
In last days, of course I wouldnt ask u to remember words but do shoot for RCs and Sectence Completion tricks.
I will surely upload them 2morrow.

as of now have completed with 50% of clusters(verbal)....many say tht its not advisable to take xam n the mnth of sep,oct and nov is it so??? bcos xams wil b a bit tricky...jus give ur few tips as to how to go abt..bcos have completed my B.Tech and waiting for my DOJ...so it wil b better if i take GRE before i join the company...

I am really happy to c a guy like u who is preparing GRE even before the perfect time for him.
On prognosis, I am saying u can get 1500+ if you keep your enthuasiam alive for next 4 months (max).
Do drop me your time details that How much time you can give to GRE per week basis then may be we can come up with Weekly Plan.

man GRE is CBT now so it is always the same and Yeah I ll strongly recomment you to get out of this before joining your job.
Tell me how much time [daily and weekly basis in hours] you can give to GRE then I am sure we can come up with some good plan for u.

If you apply after december 15th; you will not be able to apply for US top universities for next september session....
So it depends where you are applying..?

Shoot for atleast 750+ score if you remember the words very well.

hi.....its really a relief to find finally the right person who can help me out.....i have my date booked on 31st of october.....doin wordlists .....6 alphabets left....but the others done....i tend to forget out of those....have joined princetonreview's self study material......have got barrons and kaplan at hand....and some ebooks.....dont know how to schedule my studies.....i am in by btech final year....october would be almost free for me as too many holidays.....so temme is their anyway in which i can study n hope for a 1500+score......(i have normally no problem in quants....phir bhi u consider even dat)......waiting for ur answer coz rite now i am amidst too many questions
The prob wid me is not verbal,but quants..i scored arnd 550 in verbal in almost all the 5 tests i took..n in quants also i end up scoring 580-640..i have done almost everything in quants..not able to figure out whts wrong..i wanna score atleast 700 in quants..i've done 20 alphabets..6 more remaining..plz gimme some tips on rc..thats the section where am loosing most of my marks..

I have completed basic quant and finished 20 word lists from barron's. I have taken a sample test for quant and I have scored 720/800, but I know quant questions in GRE are a bit tricky, so as far as my preparation goes this is what I have done so far.
I spend almost 3-4hrs a day for quant & verbal.

quant comparison is a big problem for me especially the questions which hav D as their answer.
also in RC's i get 3 /6 questions wrong sometimes 2 but can never get all of them correct!my GRE is on the 22nd of oct

i have my gre exam on the 16th oct 08, so on an average 3 weeks left. as of now, i m over with barrons word list once but i keep forgetting the words which i am sure with practice can be taken care of. quants also i have completed once from barrons and parts from nova. yesterday i took my first gre powerprep and got 750 quants and 390 in verbal. my first question in verbal of sentence completion only went wrong and i had only 4/10 correct in R.C.. also 1 very important thing, in verbal i am never left with time to read the third R.C., so i always just mark the answers without reading and move forward.
so in all my basic problem is that i need to develop skills for SC and RC. plz help me with this considering the time frame i have now

I am really in need of your help.Firstly I will post my academic details.class 10-96.33%,class 12-93.17%,btech-75.5%.
I took my gre on sep 27,2008.i prepared from august5 onwards.I got only 1090(690+400).I thought i was strong in maths and concentrated more in english.I studied barrons and bible.The problem regarding maths is I am not able to complete the test in time.I ran out of time for the last 2 questions in my GRE.
Now I want to take the test again.I havent fixed a date,I have just started studying again.But I cannot indulge fully in to it..dont know why.
I want to do MS/phD in civil engg,and i am longing to study in a top university in fall 2009.I am in US for the past 4 months.
I want to apply for the fall 2009.Please do help me.When shall I fix the date,and what shall be my strategy.I am at home waiting for my call letter to join a s/w firm.So I have enough time to study,24 hours a day.
